The 16-inch version of the Galaxy Book4 Pro resembles the 14-inch model, except for being taller and wider. It takes cues from Apple’s Macbooks, making it easy to mistake one for the other. Despite this, the laptop boasts a sophisticated design with a metallic body and a very slim profile of 0.49 inches. I personally appreciate the grey color of the device, although some colleagues find it to be dull. Nevertheless, the matte finish of the laptop prevents the frame from attracting too many fingerprints.
The machine feels fragile, as the chassis creaks when handling the laptop from its edges or under pressure. Though not as confidence-inspiring as the HP Spectre x360 16-inch at the same price point, the Samsung device is lighter at only 1.56kg.
The laptop’s 16-inch display matches that of the smaller model. It features a Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with a peak HDR brightness of 500 nits and a resolution of 2,880 x 1,800 pixels.
The screen has a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. Based on the specifications, one can safely assume that the laptop’s screen is ideal for watching movies and TV shows. The screen significantly improved my viewing experience, making everything look more appealing. It accurately reproduces colors and, combined with its generous size, is well-suited for creative tasks.
The 120Hz screen enhances visual smoothness during gaming sessions with titles such as Hades and Hollow Knight, which perform efficiently on this device. The bezels surrounding the display are not overly noticeable, and although the screen cannot be fully flipped back, it does feature touchscreen capabilities, allowing users to tap on the display instead of utilizing the trackpad.
Regarding this matter, the laptop screen tends to shake when touched. Moreover, the shiny screen also attracts fingerprints. Despite appreciating the extra features, I opted to use the laptop’s trackpad for regular browsing.

Keyboard, Trackpad And I/O
The keyboard deck is a notable point of distinction between the 14-inch and 16-inch Galaxy Book4 Pro. Unlike the 14-inch model, the 16-inch variant features a Numpad, especially useful for Excel users. Additionally, the deck boasts a roomy design that accommodates fingers comfortably. Its keys provide tactile feedback and adjustable backlit options in three levels, allowing for easy nighttime usage without eye strain.
The laptop features a large trackpad that is not centered, but offers a smooth surface and enables multi-finger gestures. The 16-inch Galaxy Book4 Pro includes the same number of ports as the 14-inch model, with two Thunderbolt 4 connectors and an HDMI 2.1 slot on the left side.
On the right side, there is a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port, a microSD card reader, and a 3.5mm combo jack. While an additional Type-A port would have been preferred, the selection is still sufficient. Additionally, the Galaxy Book4 Pro is equipped with a functional 1080p webcam that supports Windows Studio effects such as auto-framing and background blur.
The laptop’s dedicated NPU enables these features to function effectively. Although they work well, the webcam’s image quality is not as sharp as the Spectre x360‘s 9MP camera. Moreover, the webcam lacks an IR camera. Fortunately, the laptop includes a responsive fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button, allowing for quick access to the home screen.
Performance And Battery Life
The Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 16-inch is a powerful device, equipped with Intel’s Core Ultra 7 155H processor containing a total of sixteen cores. It includes an Arc integrated GPU and a dedicated NPU for AI tasks. The model I reviewed is furnished with 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM running at 7,467MHz and a 1TB NVMe SSD.
Unsurprisingly, the laptop demonstrates performance levels similar to the 14-inch version we previously evaluated. Additionally, its performance is on par with other high-end notebooks featuring a Core Ultra 7 155H processor. Although it achieved slightly lower scores than the HP Spectre x360 in most benchmarks, the distinctions were not significant. It is possible that the sleek design of the laptop’s chassis accounts for this variance.
In any case, I was not disappointed by the day-to-day performance of the Galaxy Book4 Pro. I mainly utilize web-based apps and various project management tools like Slack, Asana, and Basecamp. The device adeptly handled multitasking among these applications without any performance lag. The inclusion of a dedicated Numpad on the laptop was particularly beneficial for my daily Excel tasks and number input.
Intel’s Core Ultra 7 155H chipset, which powers the laptop, is specifically designed for handling heavier workloads. It includes a dedicated NPU that can be particularly beneficial for individuals inclined towards creativity. For example, users of Audacity can utilize the OpenVINO AI plug-ins for tasks like keyword-based tune creation or isolating vocals from instruments using Music Separation. Similarly, individuals working with Adobe’s Creative Cloud suite can also employ the NPU for AI functions such as Auto Reframe, which can help reduce the burden on the CPU and GPU, consequently improving the laptop’s battery life.
The integrated Arc GPU should not be overlooked. Although not as potent as a dedicated GPU, it is capable of running platformers, eSports games such as Valorant, and older AAA titles like GTA 5. It is important to be aware that you might need to adjust the graphics settings for certain games. For example, Hades achieves more than 130FPS at 2.8K resolution. Valorant reaches approximately 150FPS with High graphics settings at the laptop’s native resolution. More demanding titles like GTA 5 achieve 35FPS at 2.8K resolution and over 60FPS at 1200P. While you could push the GPU with newer AAA games like NFS Unbound, I would advise against it as the game is likely to struggle to reach 30FPS.
The device tends to get warm when in use, especially during gaming or running benchmarks, with some of the P-cores reaching temperatures exceeding 90 degrees. Surprisingly, the laptop’s 76Whr battery had a shorter lifespan compared to the 56WHr battery of the Galaxy Book4 Pro 14-inch in the PCMark 10 Battery (Modern Office) test. Nevertheless, I was satisfied with the battery performance as I could use the laptop continuously for approximately six hours.

Additionally, the Spectre x360 boasts a better webcam and top-firing speakers, making it the preferred choice for many users.
That being said, there are compelling reasons to consider the Galaxy Book4 Pro as well. It is notably lighter in weight compared to the Spectre x360 and features an equal number of ports. Moreover, the inclusion of a full-sized Numpad can be a significant advantage for users who rely heavily on numerical input. If these features align with your preferences and requirements, the Galaxy Book4 Pro deserves careful consideration despite the strong competition it faces from other premium laptops in its category.
