He stated that any woman, married or unmarried, who accompanies a man, irrespective of consent, should be sentenced to death. He asserted that in Islam, rape carries the punishment of death.

He acknowledged that he wasn’t aware of the context in which Mulayam Singh had made his statement, but he maintained that the death penalty should be applied.
