Shankar Ashwath is a well-known South Indian film artist who has been in the industry for over 25 years. He is the son of well-known actor KS Aswath. His father, KS Ashwath, died of a heart attack after returning from Kashi on January 18, 2010. The South Indian film industry suffered a great loss after his father’s death because he was an excellent actor. He was born in Mysore, Karnataka, in 1958. Shankar completed his primary and secondary education in Mysore before attending Sharad Vilas High School for his high school education.

After finishing high school, he took join to JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysore in 1978. From there he got a diploma certificate in pharmacy in the year 1980. His father, Karaganahalli Subbaraya Ashwathanarayana (KS Ashwath), was a legendary Kannada film actor who appeared in over 370 films. Shankar had acting in his blood because his father was a great actor, so he entered the film industry after finishing his diploma. Shankar Aswath’s film career began in 1996.

After this, he also worked in superhit movies like Nandi (2002) Malla (2004) Raj the Showman (2009), and Rangi Taranga (2015). He worked in South Indian Industry for almost Twenty Five years but has failed to get a good chance. After working in the movie cinema for Twenty Five years, he did not get the chance and recognition for which he is popular. According to Shankar, he does not get good character offers due to the age and generation gap in the movie industry.
