The scholarships are open to students who are pursuing undergraduate or graduate studies in any field of study at any accredited university in the United States. A new scheme has been created by the Directorate of Minority Welfare Government of Kerala to provide educational opportunities among the girl applicant of minority communities such as the Muslim Community, Converted Christian, and Latin Catholic.

As we all know there are many girl applicants who due to their weak economic condition are not being able to pursue their higher education. Lack of funds leads to dropout rates of the girl applicant from minority communities. Keeping this in mind the Directorate of Minority Welfare Government of Kerala has produced a new scheme known as the CH Muhammed Koya Scholarship. Under the scheme, economic assistance will be provided to the girl’s applicant who wants to pursue their higher education. The main aim of launching this scholarship is to provide educational opportunities so that the girl’s applicant will be able to continue their higher studies without thinking about any economic hurdle

Selection Criteria of CH Muhammed Koya Scholarship

The following selection criteria are required to apply under CH Muhammed Koya awards

• The aspirant needs to fill the application form online
• After filling the form they have to take the printout of the application form and attach all the Relevant documents
• The student need to submit these documents to the head of the institution
• The institution will verify the documents of the aspirant
• After the successful verification the head of an institution will approve the application through the scholarship site
• After the approval the institute will return the documents of the applicant
• The documents will be inspected by the award inspection team for the final submission
• After the whole process the award will be dispersed by the Directorate of Minority Welfare

Rewards Under Scholarship

Around 7000 awards will be distributed by the Directorate of Minority Welfare to the applicant every year. The following award will be given to the selected  applicant under CH Muhammed Koya Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria of CH Muhammed Koya Scholarship

• An student must be a female candidate only
• Student must belong to the minority communities such as Muslim, Converted Christian & Latin Catholic
• The aspirant must have passed 12th examination with a minimum 50% of marks
• An student must be a student of government added institution or should have secured Admission under Government quota
• The annual family amount should not exceed more than Rs. 8 lakhs per annum from all the sources
