Sikkim RTO Code 2024
To provide all driver and vehicle-related services, Sikkim’s State Transport Department created Regional Transport Offices. As a consequence of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, which was established by the Indian government, all vehicle users in the state and throughout India must have a current driver’s license and their vehicles must be registered at the Regional Transport Office.
A learner’s license and a permanent driving license are both available from Regional Transport Offices, which also serve Sikkim. If the license holder loses their original one and it is about to expire, the RTO will provide a duplicate driving license, and it will renew the license when it is due to expire. Also, fitness certificates for private and commercial vehicles, vehicle state permits for business and transport vehicles, and No Objection certificates for address changes are all available at RTOs in Sikkim.

About Sikkim RTO
In 1944, an attempt was made to establish a transportation system in Sikkim. Sikkim State Transport was the official name at the time. The regional transportation system is managed by the transport company in all other states, however the government changed its name to Sikkim Nationalize Transport in 1955.
Sikkim State Transport used to manage the traffic in the region until recently, and the Transport Department was directly in charge of it. Almost all of the state’s roads were nationalized by the Central Government. The Motor Vehicles Act was passed in 1988, which changed the situation. The Motor Vehicle Department, which is part of the Transport Department of Sikkim, is now in charge of the state’s road system.
