Hero Xoom 110 Review, Price, Features and Specification in 2024

Hero Xoom 110 The Hero Xoom 110 is a interesting Scooter. It seeks to provide a dynamic scooter riding experience in a smaller, more affordable, and more accessible packaging than certain 125cc models from companies like TVS and Suzuki. Ironically, a similar process led to the creation of the Maestro Edge 110, which is currently for sale.

It was never able to ignite the sales chart, though. Hero therefore adopted a more aggressive strategy and produced the images you see above. Although the concept appears good on the surface, is it appealing in practise? To get an answer, we put the Hero Xoom 110 through its paces.

Hero Xoom 110 Review

The current generation of gearless scooters is more diverse in terms of features and looks than the typical economy aero plane seat. And given that scooters are replacing motorbikes as people’s primary two-wheeled means of transportation, this was always going to happen.

Therefore, it should come as no surprise that the scooter business is expanding rapidly and that every two-wheeler manufacturer wants a piece of that lucrative pie. Having said that, Hero MotoCorp has presented the Xoom 110, a sporty and unique-looking scooter, and we’ll try to determine whether it merits your attention with a series of brief inquiries.

Features

On the feature front, the Xoom offers a mixed bag of benefits. Starting with the positives, it has a completely digital instrument cluster that not only displays the necessary information but also the mileage in real time. Additionally, it has Bluetooth connectivity for turn-by-turn navigation and smartphone communication notifications (only available on the top-tier ZX trim). Additionally, there are cornering lights, an LED headlight, an LED tail lamp, an under-seat light, and a USB charger. The latter are tiny lights that are attached to the front apron’s sides. These lights detect lean and steering angle during turning, and they illuminate the road in the turn’s direction. Despite the fact that it’s a decent element to gloat about, I didn’t find it helpful as the light toss is restricted to a distance of around five feet.

However, the Xoom lacks an external petrol filler cap, which is now standard in vehicles. Furthermore, the under-seat storage area is rather limited; it is incapable of accommodating a backpack that contains a laptop of a typical size or a half-face helmet. The two open glove boxes also take up room on the front footboard, making it difficult to store your grocery bags even if they can each fit a one-liter water bottle. Now, these niggles are a little depressing given that scooters outperform motorcycles in terms of usability.

Design

I’m hoping Hero’s design team received praise for producing such a beautiful scooter at their yearly event. They gave the Xoom just the proper number of cuts, wrinkles, and curves in keeping with the notion of “sporty,” which they took very seriously. Along with the dramatic handlebar cowl, the sharp front apron houses the H-shaped DRL and headlight, giving the motorcycle an imposing appearance. Sharp edges, a fake air scoop, an X-shaped tail lamp, and flush-fitted pillion grab rails let the rear area of the vehicle blend in seamlessly. Although it’s easy to draw design inspiration from many scooters, it is definitely attractive.

However, quality standards are roughly average. The buttons lack tactile feel, the switches seem like they are made of thin plastic, and some of the black paint appears like it will soon fade. Despite being a brand-new scooter with generally decent fitting, our test model began to make a slight rattling noise from the front portion. However, the majority of the bodywork’s paint and plastic quality seems robust, and there are no noticeable panel gaps that are uneven.

Comfort

On the Xoom, straddling and adopting the riding position are now simple and natural. It provides a straight riding position, plush seat padding, and adequate footboard legroom. For my height of 5’11”, however, the ergonomics feel a little tight since the handlebar is too near and brushes up against my knees as I do a U-turn. Despite this, the scooter seems generally comfortable and doesn’t seem to be a huge problem.

The Xoom’s suspension arrangement is obviously optimized to give responsiveness and snappy handling in terms of ride quality. Regardless of speed, the front and rear have a significantly firmer feel and respond to abrupt surface changes with a modest jolt. The ride never becomes irritating, though, as slowing down as you cross obstacles like rumble strips, road joints, and patchwork reduces the impact to tolerable levels.

Performance and Handling

The 110.9cc engine that powers the Maestro Edge 110 also powers the Xoom. At 8.05bhp and 8.7Nm, the performance statistics are essentially equal. The Maestro Edge’s compression ratio is 9.5:1, whereas the Xoom’s is 10. The Xoom strikes on the move as a rather brisk scooter with a strong punch off the line. Up to 60 kmph, the acceleration is rather swift, but after that, the performance starts to flag. Although it can go faster than 90 kph, it takes its sweet time to get there. However, the engine performance, particularly below 70 kmph, does match the scooter’s athletic looks.

I find myself longing for the engine to be more refined. In addition to sounding mechanical at greater speeds, the footboard also begins to vibrate from as low as 10 kph. Strangely, the buzz begins to fade a little around 80 kmph and beyond, which doesn’t help its cause given that scooters are typically driven at speeds lower than that. Unfortunately, the vibrations somewhat deprive you of a pleasurable experience.

In terms of handling, the Xoom is quite outstanding. The direction changes are swift, and the front end seems responsive. New riders may find it unnervingly tippy and agile, but it shouldn’t take long for them to get used to it and begin to like it. This is matched by the scooter’s small kerb weight, which only heightens its silliness. The brakes, especially the front ones, return a reasonable amount of bite and lever input, which enhance its handling. Because both brakes have a high rate of advancement, the wheels are less likely to lock up.

Fuel Efficiency

Here Xoom ended up being estimable. In KSEDU mileage test, which happens on a course with low to direct traffic, the bike returned an eco-friendliness of 50.2kmpl. With a 5.2-liter gas tank, you’re taking a gander at a scope of around 261km!

Price

In India, the Hero Xoom 110 starts at Rs. 69,099 and goes up to Rs. 77,199. The Hero Xoom 110 is available in three different models: the Hero Xoom 110 LX, the Hero Xoom 110 VX, and the Hero Xoom 110 ZX. The top variation is Legend Xoom 110 ZX which includes some major disadvantages tag of Rs. 77,199.

Conclusion

The Hero Xoom is priced similarly to its direct rival, the Honda Dio, at Rs  69,099 to 77,199 (ex-showroom). In any case, the previous brings along a much needed refresher with eye-snappy styling while the Dio has outwardly continued as before for quite a while now. Indeed, even in a hurry, the Xoom feels like a vivacious item with good motor execution, deft taking care of, light weight, and conservative aspects. Additionally, the stopping power is adequate. Albeit the ride quality is a touch firm, it’s not through and through awkward and one can undoubtedly live with that. As far as up-sides, I would likewise incorporate the tremendous help network that a Legend client appreciates during his/her proprietorship.
