Suzuki V-Strom SX Road Test Review 2024 Price, Performance, Top Speed, Mileage & Guide

Suzuki V-Strom SX Test Review: The Suzuki V-Strom SX is a popular adventure touring motorcycle that has received rave reviews from riders and critics alike. The bike comes equipped with a powerful 1037cc V-twin engine, offering smooth power delivery and excellent performance on both highways and off-road trails. The suspension system is also noteworthy, providing ample travel and adjustability to handle various terrains.

During my long-term use, the V-Strom SX is the second motorcycle that has covered 10,000 miles. The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 was my first, and it took me nearly a year to master it. However, it took less than six months for the V-Strom SX. I have commuted on it to provide you with some perspective. My one-day drive is 130km roundtrip, which includes top hour traffic. I also started riding it whenever I went to the gym. I went on three lengthy journeys, one to Bangalore, one to Mangalore, and one to Goa. That also took it off-roading, which was a bad idea, which I’ll talk about in detail in the next section of this review. In short, I was able to evaluate this Suzuki much more accurately because I tested it in every way possible.

It is referred to as a “sport adventure tourer,” and the fact that it is built on the exciting and dependable Gixxer 250 platform is the reason why we are so eager to ride it.

Comfort and Ergonomics

The SX motorcycle’s height is the first thing you’ll notice; Consequently, the seat height is 835mm higher than average. Although it is 35 millimeters longer than the Himalayan, it is not the highest because the KTM 390 Adventure holds that distinction. Even though it was fine for shorter riders to get on the motorcycle, they might become exhausted trying to balance it in traffic. It wasn’t a problem for me. I adored everything about that seat and its height. I can’t recall the last motorcycle I rode on which I didn’t have to adjust my backside during long rides. The SX’s cushioning was just right. I rode the bike for approximately 13 hours, and the seat provided excellent comfort and support. To give you an idea, I weigh close to 90 kilograms.

Engine and Performance

This motorcycle’s air-cooled 250cc single-cylinder engine produces 22Nm and 26 bhp. It does not have any fins. However, it has Suzuki’s cutting-edge oil cooling system, which is why I thoroughly enjoyed this motorcycle. a few things about this engine that I enjoyed. It has a refined, silky feel to it and produces excellent results. Additionally, this motor’s excellent tractability makes my city commute simple and comfortable. The vibrations are controlled and won’t bother you until the rpm needle reaches 7,000 rpm. Since this motorcycle is all about the midrange, you won’t often reach such high rpms. It is extremely potent.

The bike already performs well at high speeds at 5,000 rpm, despite the linear distribution of torque. Overtaking also becomes second nature here. Be on the highway or in the city roads. The engine’s overall NVH and cooling efficiency are the other strengths. That have been days when I started my ride at 4 in the morning and finished it at 6 in the evening, and the engine has always felt the same. There is no brutality. There were no engine breakdowns and the engine does not feel stressed. It is time to share the engine with the chassis now that we have given it enough credit.

The frame of the V-Strom and the Gixxer are identical, but the V-Strom has a different subframe and swingarm. In addition, the VStrom performs admirably in almost every circumstance as a result of these modifications. The V-Strom SX delivers an awe-inspiring riding experience, whether you’re navigating through traffic or having fun on the twisties. The bike almost acts as if all you need to do is think about where you want to go.

Fuel Efficiency

The V-Strom SX’s low fuel consumption was another reason I fell in love. It produced excellent results during 1,000-kilometer rides and city runs. The V-Strom has a small 12-liter fuel tank for a touring motorcycle. To be honest, I didn’t think this motorcycle would produce a lot of power, but I was proved wrong. The bike returned between 43 and 45 kilometers per gallon, which is close to 500 kilometers of range with a full tank, during my city commutes, when I mostly sit in the middle of the range and do not have to fully open the throttle.

The motorcycle produced 35-38 kilometers per gallon, which is adequate for a motorcycle of this size, on long runs where I was traveling at 110-120 kilometers per hour the majority of the time. Fuel, lodging, and food are all expensive costs when you go on long tours. However, the V-strom SX’s high fuel efficiency will help you save money overall.

Luggage holding abilities

The V-Strom SX is designed to accommodate a great deal of luggage. For all of my trips, I used the Rynox Navigator 15-liter tank bag and the 50-liter tail bag. Suzuki has provided a high-quality tail rack for the luggage rack. The loops can be used in a variety of ways here. I discovered that this provision was ideal for my trips. These enormous luggage hooks, on the other hand, can also be used to hang bungee cords. I’ve always kept the mounting strap on because I prefer to use the Rynox Navigator for my luggage. Throughout my rides, the Navigator tank also held up well. A 15-liter tank bag could fit in the space above the tank. Overall, I’m pretty pleased with the V-Strom’s capacity for carrying luggage.

Price

You must be wondering why I adore this motorcycle so much, and you wouldn’t be wrong. However, there are a few things about this V-Strom SX that I dislike. This instrument cluster is the first. Despite the fact that this motorcycle’s cluster resembles that of a 150cc or 200cc motorcycle, it costs Rs 2.5 lakh. It does display some ride information, but LCD or semi-color instrumentation is not available. Now, motorcycles of this price range typically have these features.

Conclusion

Many of the right boxes are checked by the V-Strom SX. It has a tonne of performance and can be utilised both on and off the roadway. That receives styling that gives the motorbike a huge, ambitious look. It also offers several respectable and practical characteristics. The V-Strom, a Japanese-made motorbike, has exceptional refinement and fuel economy, which helps to keep the cost of the trip under control. Unfortunately, the bike doesn’t seem comfortable in off-road settings, which negates the bike’s versatility. Due to its price tag of Rs 2.5 lakh, the V-Strom SX may not be the most affordable motorbike available, but it is unquestionably a better motorcycle and can make a terrific daily driver.
