About Basavakalyan Engineering College

The ancient town of Basavakalyan is located in India’s Karnataka state’s Bidar District. It served as the seat of government for Sri Bijjala’s kingdom, a member of the Kalchuri Chalukyan dynasty, during the 12th century. The beneficent prime minister of the country was Lord Basaveshwara, a devout man renowned for his benevolence. In order to create a society free from exploitation and prejudice on the basis of caste, religion, language, and gender, he carried out an unheard-of revolution here. He devoted his life to the creation of a welfare state since, to him, compassion was the cornerstone of religion.

His reputation quickly expanded to other regions of the Indian subcontinent, including Tamil Nadu. Men, women, and even kings were drawn to this location where they practiced simple living by adhering to the philosophy “Work Is Worship”; these truly pious people were known as SHIVASHARANAS. BKET provides a four-year Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in a number of fields. More than 300 students are admitted each year to the B.E. program. Candidates must have a higher secondary diploma with at least 45% in Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science, and Electronics as one of the optional courses, in addition to Physics and Mathematics, which are required. Candidates with an engineering diploma are also welcome to apply. Applicants will be admitted through counseling depending on their performance on the COMEDK UGET/KCET entrance test.
