About UPSSSC PET

In the beginning, a Subordinate Services Selection Board was established by the Uttar Pradesh State Government in 1988. This board was later replaced by Act No. 7 of 1988, which allowed for direct recruitment to any group “C” positions that the State Government determined through a notification in this regard. In addition, the Board was given permission to consider any request from a government-owned or government-controlled authority for recruitment to these positions. The Board had a corporate element separate from the Public authority.

Following that, on May 31, 1990, the aforementioned Board was dissolved and transformed into a Commission with a chairman and no more than five members. In addition, the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (Amendment) Act, 1993 was passed to define and vary the Chairman’s and Commission members’ service conditions. By this revision the commission was changed over into a Division of the Public authority. On December 28, 1997, the aforementioned act was overturned by an ordinance, which was later replaced by Act N0.5 of 1998. Act No. 1 of 2006 established the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services selection commission once more. However, this Act was repealed in 2007 by U.P. ordinance No. 6 and later by Act No. 21 of 2007.

UPSSSC PET Exam Pattern 2024

UPSSSC has proposed a two-tier exam system for upcoming exams due to the high number of applicants applying for limited positions.

• The UPSSSC PET 2024 paper will be conducted offline for a duration of 2 hours.
• There will be a negative marking of 1/4 (0.25) numbers for each incorrect answer.
• There will be 100 questions for 100 marks.
• The exam will be manage in two Tiers which are as follows.

Tier 1 – PET Exam

Tier 2 – Mains Exam/Skill Test/ Physical Test

• The mode of examination will be offline.
• It is an intermediate level of examination.
• The examination will be of 100 numbers for 100 questions for 2 hours.
• UPSSSC has also make a provision of 1/4 negative marking for every wrong answer.
