About HP Ex-Servicemen Corporation
The Himachal Pradesh Government established the HP Ex-Servicemen Corporation in 1979 through the H.P. Ex-Servicemen Corporation Act, 1979 (as amended by the Amendment and Validation Act, 1984). The year 1981 marked the beginning of the Corporation’s existence. The Corporation’s primary objective is to support the economic well-being and welfare of former state service members. Through nationalized banks, the Corporation provides loans for self-employment programs. The borrower must arrange for 75% of the loan through the bank, and the corporation provides 10% as a Margin Money loan at 7% interest up to a maximum of Rs. 1,00,000/-. The loanee is responsible for spending the remaining 15%. The bank loan also receives a 2.5% interest subsidy from the corporation.
