The most powerful series production boxer engine ever manufactured by BMW is located at the core of this new bike. With a displacement of exactly 1,300cc, it delivers 145hp at 7,750rpm and 149Nm at 6,500rpm, resulting in an increase of 9hp and 6Nm compared to the previous model. While peak power remains unchanged at the same rpm, peak torque now arrives 250rpm later. Despite the increased displacement, BMW claims that the engine is more compact than before due to the placement of the gearbox underneath it.
