During the 2012 Ranji Trophy season, Axar Patel made his first-class debut. However, he only appeared in one match against Madhya Pradesh during the season. He didn’t like his first season with the team. Axar Patel took six wickets in the first match of the Ranji season against Delhi in 2013-14. He was Gujarat’s most successful all-rounder after playing in seven games this season. With his bat, he made 369 runs and took 29 wickets.
