APSC Combined Competitive Prelims Exam Pattern

Note:

• In Paper 1-General Studies 1 – 30%-35% questions will compulsorily be connect to Assam
• Paper 2- General Studies II – Qualifying nature, shall have minimum qualifying number of 33%.
• The questions will be of objective type with multiple choices
• The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination by the Applicant who are declared qualified for admission to the Main Examination will not be counted for determining the final order of level.
• There will be negative marking for wrong answers
  • There are four alternatives for the answers to every question. One-fourth of the total number assigned to one question will be deducted for wrong answer marked by a applicants.
  • If a applicants numbers more than one answer, it will be treated as a wrong answer even if one of the give answers happens to be right.

APSC Combined Competitive Exam Syllabus 2024

APSC Combined Competitive Exam in 2024, it’s important to be well-prepared by familiarizing yourself with the exam syllabus. The syllabus for the 2024 exam includes a wide range of subjects, including General Studies, Optional Subjects, and Language Papers. The General Studies section covers topics such as Indian History, Geography, Polity, Economy, Science and Technology, and Environment and Ecology. In addition to this, there are several Optional Subjects to choose from based on your interests and expertise. Paper I: General Studies I

• Indian Polity and Governance-Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights issues etc,
• Economic and Social Development-Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.
• General issues on Environment ecology, Bio-Diversity and Climate Change- that do not require subject specialization.
• General Science.

APSC Combined Competitive Mains Exam Syllabus

Paper 1

To be written in the medium or language of the candidate’s choice. Candidate is required to write an essay on a specific topic. The choice of subjects will be given.

Paper 2 – General Studies I 

• Indian culture shall cover the salient aspects of Art Forms, Literature and Architecture from ancient to modern times.
• Modern Indian history from about the middle of the eighteenth century until the present- significant events, personalities, issues.
• The Freedom Struggle – its various stages and important contributors/contributions from different parts of the country.
• Post-independence consolidation and reorganization within the country.
• Salient features of Indian Society, Diversity of India.
• Role of women and women’s organization, population and associated issues, poverty and developmental issues, urbanization, their problems and their remedies.
• Effects of Globalization on Indian society.
• Social empowerment, Communalism, Regionalism & Secularism.

Questions will be included in this paper to assess candidates’ attitudes and approaches to integrity, probity in public life, and problem-solving skills in dealing with a variety of issues and conflicts.
