About UPSC IFS

The Regal Commission on the predominant Common Administrations in India was set up under the chairmanship of Master Lee of Fareham by the English Government in 1923. The commission submitted its report in 1924, recommending the establishment of a Public Service Commission, with equal representation from British and Indian members. The Lee Commission recommended that forty percent of newcomers should be British, forty percent Indians should be directly recruited, and twenty percent Indians should be promoted from the provincial services.

Sir Ross Barker served as chairman of the first Public Service Commission, which was established on October 1, 1926. A simple restricted warning capability was conceded to the Public Help Commission and the heads of the opportunity development ceaselessly focused on this perspective, which then, at that point, brought about the setting up of a Bureaucratic Public Help Commission under the Public authority of India Act 1935. the Union Public Service Commission put back the Federal Public Service Commission.
