Swapnil Shinde aka Saisha Shinde is India’s 1st female transgender personality fashion designer. She was born in 1981 in Hindu Colony, Dadar, Mumbai, Maharashtra. She did his primary education at St. Joseph’s High School in Wadala, Mumbai. Swapnil had to face a lot of intolerance during his studies. She was born as a man, but from birth she had female features due to which she was teased by her classmates.
After finishing her studies, she did her graduation in Fashion Designing from the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Mumbai. She then shifted to Italy where she finished her Masters in Fashion from the House of Versace. Seeing his skills, he obtain promotion as a visual merchandiser. After working as a businessman till 2005, she connected Lakme Fashion Week arranged by Next Class as a fashion designer, where her work was highly admired by fashion critics.
