Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must have passed in Punjabi subject up to Matriculation level. If the candidate has not passed Punjabi up to matriculation, he will be given 6 months to pass the subject.
- The candidate should have an MBBS degree from a recognized University or Institute recognized by the Medical Council of India.
- Preference will be given to candidates having 6 months job in Obstetrics & Gynecology and will be trained in MTP from a registered MTP training center.
- The candidate must be registered with the Punjab Medical Council / Medical Council of India. In case the candidate has not registered, he/she will be given 1 month to get registered with the Punjab Medical Council/ Medical Council of India.
Age Limit
The maximum age limit of the candidate for Medical Officer is 37 years. Age relaxation rules are as per Punjab Govt. Age criteria may be relaxed in case of non-availability of the suitable candidates and up to 64 years for MO under RNTCP.

Salary of Medical Officer
- MO (Dental): – 2800/ – Per Day
- Medical Officer under RNTCP: – Rs. 35,000
- Medical Officer (MMU): – (Rs. 35,000 + Rs. 5,000 remote area allowance)
- MO (MBBS): – Rs. 40,000/-
- Medical Officer (Specialist): – 70,000/-
- Medical Officer (Urban Health):- Rs. 28000/- per month
