On July 29, 2024, Monu Manesar shared a video on his Facebook page, declaring his intention to lead a procession (yatra) from Gurugram to Nuh on July 31. The purpose of the procession was to protest against the alleged killing of a Hindu boy named Nasir Junaid, supposedly at the hands of Muslim individuals during a dispute involving cows. Monu asserted that Nasir was a relative of his and vowed to pursue justice relentlessly. He also issued a warning to Muslims in Nuh, urging them to vacate the area or face severe consequences. Monu claimed substantial backing from thousands of Hindus who were poised to join him on the yatra. He called upon his followers to be armed and prepared for confrontation.
The video rapidly gained traction on social media, causing anxiety among Nuh’s Muslim community, predominantly a minority group within the district in Haryana.
