The first IIIT in India, the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIITH), is an autonomous institution that was founded in 1998 as a non-profit public-private collaboration. The two B.Tech disciplines offered by IIIT Hyderabad are computer science and engineering (CSE) and electronics and communications engineering (EC). It is provided for a four-year term. The first year’s tuition for the B.Tech program is INR 3 Lakhs. The first two semesters of the CSE specialty are devoted to computer science training, and the last two semesters are devoted to non-IT subjects. Data structures and programming languages are studied in the early semesters of the ECE specialty, while advanced courses and electives are offered in the latter semesters.
