When will Dune Part Two be released?
As previously stated, the release date for Dune: Part Two has been rescheduled to March 1, 2024.
The sequel, originally scheduled to be released on November 3, 2024, was delayed due to strikes and rescheduled for March 15, 2024. However, it was later moved forward by two weeks to its current release date. In contrast to the first movie, which premiered simultaneously on HBO’s Max streaming service and in US cinemas, the sequel will have an exclusive theatrical release in the US without a simultaneous streaming release.
Principal photography for the sequel began on July 18, 2022 and took place in Budapest, Abu Dhabi, Jordan, and Italy. Filming concluded in December 2022 unless any additional reshoots are required. Even though Leto is no longer alive, there is a possibility that he may make appearances through flashbacks or in Paul’s prophetic visions. Isaac hinted at this in a recent interview when he said, “Dad’s dead, baby, dad’s dead. It’s a bummer. Maybe there will be some flashbacks or supernatural appearances, but not as a force ghost. They don’t have force ghosts.” As for Jason Momoa, who played Duncan Idaho and valiantly died while protecting Paul and Lady Jessica, there is a chance he may return, albeit not exactly as we remember him. Fans of Dune know that in Dune: Messiah, Duncan Idaho is brought back to life as a ghola – essentially a resurrected clone – with no memories of his previous existence.
