Vehicle Details
There are some specifications set by the relevant authorities for vehicles that must be purchased in order to take advantage of the program.
- Maximum volume must be 125 ccm.
- The vehicle must be subject to registration under the Motor Vehicles Act 1988.
- Vehicles must be manufactured after January 1, 2018 and must comply with the latest emission standards.
- Details of all vehicles offered under this program have been compiled/collected by the Project Director (PD) of the Tamil Nadu Rural Life Mission (TNSRLM) in their respective districts.
- The details are also passed on to the transportation department. The Department of Transportation will not permit change of ownership registration due to sale or other considerations without prior approval from PD, TNSRLM, for a period of 3 years.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria when applying to the Amma Motorcycle Program.
- Applicant’s age must not exceed 40 years.
- Applicant’s age she must not be under the age of 18.
- Aspirants must have passed her 8th grade exam at an accredited college or school in Tamil Nadu district.
- Applicants must be in possession of a motorcycle driver’s license issued by the relevant authorities.
- Annual family income cannot exceed Rs 250000.

- Proof of age (Date of Birth)
- Proof of residence (EPIC card / DL / Aadhaar card / utility bill in applicant’s name).
- A driver’s license or learner’s registration card (LLR) is issued by the relevant authorities.
