About Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry
On December 1, 1985, the Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Solan, was established with the intention of encouraging education, research, and extension education in the fields of horticulture, forestry, and related fields. The late Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar, the first Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and the architect of the state, recognized the significance of horticulture and forestry to the growth and enhancement of the state economy, which led to the establishment of this university.
Its past can be traced back to the 1962-founded Himachal Agricultural College in Solan, which was part of Panjab University. When it was established in 1970, it became one of the campuses of the Himachal Pradesh University Agriculture Complex. This campus became the Horticulture Complex of Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya in 1978, and in 1985, it became a State University. It is the only university in the country that focuses solely on teaching, research, and extension in horticulture and forestry.

The admission process for diploma and degree programs at YSP University begins in 2024–24. The application for YSP University must be submitted by September 20, 2024. Students can apply to programs that are paid for by them, like the BSC Hon., Hort., Hon., BSC BTECH Biotech, forestry, Diploma in the Processing of Fruits and Vegetables, bakery products, and more
YSP University entrance exam scores will be used to determine Nauni University admission to normal seats. In order to evaluate the candidacy of applicants, ICAR will hold AIEEA UG. Candidates for self-financing programs can easily apply if they pass the entrance exam. INR 1300 is the YSP UG application fee for online submission. For various degree-oriented programs, Nauni University will accept applications until September 25, 2024. MSC Entomology, MSC Food Tech., and other courses can now be enrolled online at the university. MSC Seed Technology & Science, MBA Agri., MSC Vegetable Science, MSC Plant Pathology, and MSC Fruit Science business and a lot more After a group discussion and an individual interview, the entrance exam will determine who is admitted to YSP University PG.
In order to provide seats in MBA and MSC degree programs, the ICAR will conduct AIEEA PG. Students who pass the CAT, CMAT, or XAT can skip university entrance exams to get into the program they want. Students in the unreserved category can pay $1,300. They can deposit INR 800, while SC/ST will receive some relief. Himachal Pradesh students will receive 75% of MBA admission seats. The remaining 25% of seats will be assigned to international students.
