दिल्ली के उपमुख्यमंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया ने शनिवार को संकेत दिया कि राष्ट्रीय राजधानी में स्कूल जल्द ही फिर से खुल सकते हैं, क्योंकि बड़ी संख्या में छात्रों को Covid19 टीका लगाया गया है और मामलों की संख्या घट रही है। मंत्री ने कहा, “चूंकि उच्च कक्षाओं के अधिकांश छात्रों को टीका लगाया गया है, इसलिए स्कूलों को फिर से खोलने के लिए डीडीएमए के समक्ष एक प्रस्ताव रखा जा सकता है।” दिल्ली के सरकारी स्कूलों में 15 से 18 साल के करीब 85 फीसदी छात्रों को 21 जनवरी तक टीका लगाया जा चुका है।

List of States That Have Closed Schools

  • Mumbai: Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has allowed schools to reopen in Mumbai from January 24, 2022. In their guidelines, BMC has said that attendance is not mandatory for anybody. Students from pre-primary to Class 12 will be allowed to come to school for offline lectures.
  • Goa: The state government has decided to close down the schools and colleges in the state until January 26, 2022, amidst the rising COVID cases. It has been decided that offline sessions for students from classes 8 and 9 in schools will be closed until 26th January 2022. He further stated that students of classes 11 and 12 will have to attend schools to take the vaccination and once vaccinated they need not attend the classes until 26th January 2022.
  • West Bengal: The state government is closing all educational institutions from today, 3rd January 2022. The West Bengal school education department has earlier instructed school teachers and non-teaching staff having COVID omicron symptoms such as cough, cold or mild fever to not go to schools till they test negative for the coronavirus infection in the backdrop of West Bengal Covid cases doubling within one day.
  • Delhi: Due to an increase in the Omicron case, the government has announced ‘Yellow Alert’. Soon after, Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) released new guidelines in which schools, colleges and other educational institutions had to be closed until further orders. Also, the government has announced winter vacations for classes 1 to 5.
  • Uttar Pradesh: Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh has taken the decision to stall all physical classes for all students (classes 1 to 12) till January 23, 2022.  In addition, The University of Lucknow announced that all physical classes will remain suspended until January 16, 2022.
  • Rajasthan: The Primary and Upper Primary Schools in Jaipur have been closed by the Rajasthan State Government as part of the new restrictions imposed to curb the spread of COVID-19. For now, the state government has announced the closure of Primary Schools from 3rd to 30th January 2022. This has been taken done to safeguard the school children, especially those falling in the age group of 5 to 15.
  • Maharashtra: the state government and municipal authorities have agreed that schools should reopen from January 24th. BMC, the government of Maharashtra has decided to reopen Mumbai schools after CM Uddhav Thackeray gave his approval.
  • Odisha: School and mass education minister Samir Ranjan Dash stated, “Keeping in view the rise in the number of daily cases and based on the feedback provided by parents across the state, we have decided not to reopen schools for students of Classes 1 to 5 from January 3.” This statement from the minister came after recording the Omicron cases in the state. Physical classes were planned to be resumed in about 27,000 schools in Odisha.
  • Haryana: The Haryana government announced the closure of schools, colleges till January 26 due to the spike in Covid-19, Omicron cases in India.
  • Punjab: Schools and colleges have been instructed to shift back to online classes with immediate effect. As of now, these restrictions are only applicable till January 15, 2022.
  • Kerala : The Kerala govt on January 15 announced its decision to put on hold the offline classes for students of grade 1 to 9 for two weeks. However, there would be no change in the offline classes of 10th, 11th and 12th standards.
  • Chhattisgarh: Due to a steady rise in COVID-19 cases in Chhattisgarh, the state government on January 13 ordered that offline classes in colleges and universities be stopped with immediate effect, and also set an attendance cap for academic and non-academic staffers in these institutions.
  • Madhya Pradesh: the MP government on January 14 issued fresh guidelines, as part of which all schools and hostels for Classes 1 to 12 will remain shut in the state till January 31.
  • Gujarat: the Gujarat government decided to close schools for physical classes for students from Class 1 to Class 9 till January 31, 2022.  Coaching centres for students Class 9 upwards and those for post-graduate courses as well as competitive exams can run at 50 percent capacity, according to government orders.
  • Jammu and Kashmir: the Jammu and Kashmir State Executive Committee (SEC) under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary A K Mehta issued fresh guidelines, including adoption of online classes up to college level to deal with the rising crisis. The SEC has directed the educational institutions to conduct online classes citing the risk of rising Covid-19 cases.
  • Mizoram: Schools will remain closed for classes 1 to 9 and class 11. All teaching will shift to the online mode. However, schools and hostels will remain open for students of classes 10 and 12, who are appearing for their board examination this year.
  • Karnataka: the government decided to shut schools and pre-university colleges in Bengaluru till January 20. Schools will remain open for students of class 10 and 12.
  • Telangana: The Telangana government has taken the decision to extend the vacations in all the educational institutions till January 30, 2022.
  • Bihar: Schools in Bihar will remain closed but function in online mode till January 21 for classes up to 8. Offline classes for students of 9 to 12 are allowed with COVID restrictions.
  • Tamil Nadu: The Tamil Nadu government has also taken the decision to close its schools for students of classes 10 to 12 until January 31, 2022.
  • Pune: the education department had announced that primary schools would be reopened on January 24, schools in Pune district will remain shut for another week, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said on Saturday.

The point is some people get severe infection and some get lucky and recover.. so its like shut everything until we reach a safe situation and no, the cases didn’t decrease they are infact rising and while some hiding their results and some others brushing it off as if it ain’t a big deal. Please 🙏 every life is important. It’s not the topic of reopening, it’s about how the hell can we reduce the spread, this needs a gap frame that’s why the govt puts lockdown and that’s the only option for this type of spread.
