  • Mumbai: Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has allowed schools to reopen in Mumbai from January 24, 2023. In their guidelines, BMC has said that attendance is not mandatory for anybody. Students from pre-primary to Class 12 will be allowed to come to school for offline lectures. THE FIRST day of the reopening of schools in Mumbai drew mixed response with 44 per cent attendance of students, as per data compiled by the education department of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Coproration (BMC).
  • Goa: The state government has decided to close down the schools and colleges in the state until January 26, 2023, amidst the rising COVID cases. It has been decided that offline sessions for students from classes 8 and 9 in schools will be closed until 26th January 2023. He further stated that students of classes 11 and 12 will have to attend schools to take the vaccination and once vaccinated they need not attend the classes until 26th January 2023.
  • West Bengal: Schools from class 8th to 12th have been opened in West Bengal from Thursday amid decreasing cases of corona. At the same time, the decision has not been taken on the students of class 1 to 7 yet.
  • Delhi: Schools for std 9th to 12th reopen in Delhi from 7th Feb 2023. All schools from Nursery will open from 14th February.
  • Uttar Pradesh: In Uttar Pradesh, it has been decided to reopen the schools. Therefore, all the schools in UP will open from Monday. The bell of studies will once again ring in the schools. However, students will have to follow the rules of Corona.
  • Rajasthan: The state government on Friday announced reopening schools for classes 10 and 12 in urban areas from February 1. Classes 10 and 12 in urban areas from February 1. Classes from 6 to 9 will begin from February 10. The decision is applicable to both private and government schools. The state has also relaxed certain restrictions with effect from February 1.
  • Maharashtra: Schools from 1st to 12th have opened in Maharashtra from January 24.

Of the 24,45,407 enrolled students in 37,533 schools across the state, 14,42,790 were present for the classroom teaching on the first day,
  • Haryana: Haryana government has decided to open schools for class 10th, 11th and 12th from February 1, 2023. All Schools in Haryana State will open for offline classes for standard 10,11 and 12 from 1 February.
  • Punjab: Chandigarh’s schools and colleges will reopen for some students from February 1, 2023. The Chandigarh Administration has eased COVID restrictions and allowed offline classes to resume in schools only for students of class 10 to 12, while there is no restriction on universities and colleges.
  • Kerala : The Kerala govt on January 15 announced its decision to put on hold the offline classes for students of grade 1 to 9 for two weeks. However, there would be no change in the offline classes of 10th, 11th and 12th standards.
  • Chhattisgarh: Due to a steady rise in COVID-19 cases in Chhattisgarh, the state government on January 13 ordered that offline classes in colleges and universities be stopped with immediate effect, and also set an attendance cap for academic and non-academic staffers in these institutions.
  • Madhya Pradesh: Schools in In Madhya Pradesh state will reopen from Class 1 to 12 with 50 percent capacity from February 1 onwards.
  • Gujarat: the Gujarat government decided to close schools for physical classes for students from Class 1 to Class 9 till January 31, 2023.  Coaching centres for students Class 9 upwards and those for post-graduate courses as well as competitive exams can run at 50 percent capacity, according to government orders.
  • Jammu and Kashmir: the Jammu and Kashmir State Executive Committee (SEC) under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary A K Mehta issued fresh guidelines, including adoption of online classes up to college level to deal with the rising crisis. The SEC has directed the educational institutions to conduct online classes citing the risk of rising Covid-19 cases.
  • Mizoram: Schools will remain closed for classes 1 to 9 and class 11. All teaching will shift to the online mode. However, schools and hostels will remain open for students of classes 10 and 12, who are appearing for their board examination this year.
  • Karnataka:The Karnataka government has decided to allow reopening of schools in Bengaluru city from Monday.
  • Telangana: Few schools in the TS state have decided to continue with offline classes from 8 am to 1 pm.
  • Bihar: Schools in Bihar will open from 7th February. Government and private schools will open in Bihar from February 7. On Tuesday, the Education Minister of the state, Vijay Kumar Choudhary has issued an order after the pace of Coronavirus has decreased. The biggest thing is that schools and colleges will be opened with full capacity.
  • Tamil Nadu: Schools, colleges and universities in Tamil Nadu will be reopened from February 1. Schools will be reopened for classes 1 to 12. Meanwhile, play schools, LKG and UKG will remain closed. Class 10 and 12 board exams in the state will be conducted as per the schedule. Colleges are also allowed to function from February 1 by following Covid protocols.
  • Pune: Schools and colleges will reopen in Pune district from February 1. The school hours for classes 1 to 8 will be half of the regular schedule, but for classes 9 to 10, the school will run as per the regular schedule. Colleges will also run as per the regular schedule. Parental consent is required to send children to school.
  • Gurugram: Schools will open in Gurugram for classes 10 and above from February 1.
  • Jharkhand: Schools and colleges in the Jharkhand state will reopen from 1st Feb 2023 from Class 1 to 12. The schools for Class 9 to 12 will reopen in 7 districts: including Ranchi, East Singhbhum, Chatra, Deoghar, Saraikela, Simdega and Bokaro as these districts have higher COVID19 cases.

The point is some people get severe infection and some get lucky and recover.. so its like shut everything until we reach a safe situation and no, the cases didn’t decrease they are infact rising and while some hiding their results and some others brushing it off as if it ain’t a big deal. Please 🙏 every life is important. It’s not the topic of reopening, it’s about how the hell can we reduce the spread, this needs a gap frame that’s why the govt puts lockdown and that’s the only option for this type of spread.
