VinFast has upgraded the Eco and Plus trims for 2025 with a larger, more efficient battery, increasing range estimates to 243 to 264 miles. The firm also claims to be improving driving characteristics with revisions to the VF8’s suspension, but we have yet to test the revised version.

However, acceleration is only one factor we consider when testing a new vehicle, and the VF8’s road manners did not measure up to the larger EV SUV market.

Suspension
Its ride was less stable than the Ariya’s, and its handling lacked the inspired quality of the Mustang Mach-E. VinFast appears to have listened to our concerns, since the business has announced improvements to the VF8’s suspension for 2025.
