About SSC Stenographer

The SSC Stenographer examination is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission to recruit eligible candidates for the stenographer post in various government ministries and departments. The exam is held annually and consists of a written test followed by a skill test in SSC Stenographer Previous Paper. The written test includes questions on general intelligence and reasoning, English language and comprehension, and general awareness. Candidates who qualify the written test are then eligible to appear for the skill test, which requires them to transcribe recorded dictations at a prescribed speed. Successful candidates are offered the post of Grade C or Grade D stenographer. This is a highly coveted job for those who have a passion for stenography and wish to work in the government sector.

Later, in the Department of employees and Administrative Reforms, on 4 November 1975 government of India add up to a commission called Subordinate Service Commission. On 26 September 1977, Subordinate Services Commission was rechristened as Staff Selection Commission. The functions of Staff Selection Commission were redefined by the government of India through Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & on 21 May 1999. Then the new constitution & functions of Staff Selection Commission came into result from 1 June 1999. Every year conducts the Combined Graduate Level Examination for recruiting non-gazette officers to various government position.

SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern

The SSC Stenographer Previous Paper Exam Pattern consists of a computer-based test followed by a skill test in stenography. The computer-based test is divided into three sections: General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language and Comprehension. Each section is comprised of 50 questions, with a total of 200 questions and a time limit of 2 hours. The skill test in stenography is conducted in English and Hindi and requires candidates to transcribe dictated passages at a speed of 100 words per minute for Stenographer Grade C and 80 words per minute for Stenographer Grade D. The duration of the test is 10 minutes for Grade C and 50 minutes for Grade D. The SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern is designed to test the candidate’s ability to comprehend, retain, and reproduce information, as well as their language and stenography skills.
