Shaakuntalam Movie Release Date – Shaakuntalam is an forthcoming Indian Telugu-language mythological drama movie written and directed by Gunasekhar and bankrolled by Neelima Guna and Dil Raju under the banner of Gunaa Team works and Dil Raju Productions appropriately. Based on a famous Indian play Shakuntala by Kalidasa, the movie features Samantha Akkineni in the titular character of Shakuntala and Dev Mohan as Dushyanta, the king of Puru Dynasty along with Aditi Balan, Allu Arha and Mohan Babu in supporting characters. The project was declared on October 2020 by Gunasekhar. The movie start production in Feb 2021 in Hyderabad.

After bringing record breaking movies Like Baahubali 1 And 2 and RRR and making havoc at the Indian box-office and overseas, Tollywood movie Industry is set for its another Pan-India release titled Shaakuntalam. The flask opus is based on traditional Sanskrit writer and ancient India’s greatest poet and playwright Maharishi Kaladana’s Internationally praised Sanskrit play Abhigyana Shaakuntalam, also famous as Shakuntala, The recognition of Shakuntala, The symbol of Shakuntala and may other variation.
The project was reported by National Film Award winning director Gunasekhar of “Okkadu”, “Manoharam” and “Rudhramadevi” fame in Oct 2020. The movie’s production start in Feb 2021 at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad and ended up in August 2021. The movie was considerably shot around Hyderabad, including Ramoji Film City, Ananthagiri Hills and Gandipet Lake.

Set in the Northern Parts of India, in the scenery of Hastinapur, parts of Kashmir and the banks of Himalaya, the movie stars South Indian diva and superstar Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the female main character as Shakuntala.
On the other front, Malayalam actor Dev Mohan is playing Shakuntala’s husband and the special Indian King of Puru Dynasty, Dushyanta in his Telugu debut.
