Sergey Brin Wiki: One of America’s most successful personalities is Sergey Mikhailovich Brin. However, on August 21, 1973, he was born in Moscow, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union. He moved to America with his family after spending the first six years of his life in Russia. In 1979, he and his family immigrated to the United States and were granted citizenship. His mother worked as a researcher for NASA, while his father was a mathematician at the University of Maryland. His parents gave him the brains. After graduating from college in the United States, Brin began working as a computer scientist.

After moving to the United States from the Soviet Union, Sergey Brin attended Montessori school for the first time. He was accepted into the University of Maryland after completing his elementary education. Sergey earned his Bachelor of Science degree there. He then began majoring at Stanford University and was accepted for a computer science PhD.

Larry Page became friends with Sergey Brin shortly after he arrived at Stanford University. Their interest was piqued by the idea of increasing the capacity to make sense of the enormous amounts of data collected on the Internet. From Page’s dorm room, they started working on a new type of search technology that used web users’ own rating abilities to measure each site’s backing links, or the number of other pages connected to it. By 1995, Brin had earned a master’s degree, but he took a break from Stanford to work on the web search engine. In the middle of 1998, Page and Brin started looking for money from outside, and they ended up getting about $1 million from financiers and family and friends. They established Google Inc. to serve as its host and renamed their revised search engine Google, a misspelling of the originally intended name googol.

Google was slammed that year for agreeing to censor pro-democracy websites in response to demands made by the Chinese government. Brin said that it was better to have some, if limited, knowledge than none, so he supported the move. In April 2011, Brin left his position as president of innovation and technology at Google to become the director of special projects there. Google was reorganized in August 2015 into a subsidiary of Alphabet Corporation, a newly established holding company headed by Brin. Before leaving his position as president of Alphabet in December 2019, Brin remained on the company’s board of directors.
