Speaking of core performance, Qualcomm uses the new Kryo architecture with a single core Prime Cortex-X3 with 3.2GHz. It also changed the number of cores for performance and efficiency, opting for a 1 3 configuration. The four performance cores are clocked at 2.8 GHz, while the three performance cores are clocked at 2.0 GHz. This results in 35 percent faster performance and 0 percent greater efficiency. The QRD scored 1, 92 points in single-core performance, while it scored 5,222 points in multi-core performance. In comparison, the Apple A16 Bionic-based iPhone 1 Pro Max achieves slightly higher points, reaching 188 and 5325 points.

It’s worth noting that these scores were achieved on a benchmark fine-tuned by Qualcomm. It would be interesting to see how OEMs use (or not) the capabilities of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC to deliver performance and functionality to end users. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait too long to find out. Qualcomm’s all-new chip-equipped smartphones will be launched as early as later this year.
