Prime Minister’s ‘Modi&US’ Mega Event with Indian Diaspora: Celebration of Indian Culture & Values

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet with members of the Indian diaspora on September 22 in New York, and preparations are well on for this event. Uniondale, New York’s Nassau Veterans Coliseum will host the massive event “Modi&US.” The event is sold out and at capacity, according to news agency ANI. For the 13,000 seats that were available, almost 25,000 people had registered.

Within 48 hours of registration opening, more than 500 community organizations from more than 40 states signed up to participate in the event as “Welcome Partners.” An important organizer for the Modi&US event, Ganesh Ramakrishnan, told ANI that there was a tangible sense of excitement for the occasion. “The excitement is palpable and the sheer volume of people working together to make this event a success in really impressive,” according to him.

Modi departed for a three-day visit to the United States on Saturday morning. While in town, Modi will participate in discussions at the UN, go to the Quad Leaders’ Summit, and attend many high-level gatherings. This year, The Modi&US will have two stages before Prime Minister Modi’s main speech.

According to ANI, the main stage of Echoes of India: A Journey of Art and Tradition will feature nearly 400 nationally and internationally renowned artists, including Grammy Award nominee Chandrika Tandon, STAR Voice of India winner and Indian superstar Aishwarya Majumdar, Instagram sensation Ricky Pond, Dancing Dad, and singing sensation Rex DSouuza. Attendees will be able to seamlessly experience India’s rich cultural diversity thanks to this.

Visit The United States from September 21 to 23

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in the US from September 21 to September 23.He will participate in the Quad Summit and deliver a speech at the “Summit of the Future” at the UN General Assembly in New York. He’s supposed to talk at an Indian community gathering in New York on September 22.

This year, Modi&US will be held in two segments, each of which will come before Prime Minister Modi’s keynote address. Echoes of India: A Journey of Art and Tradition’s main stage will include around 400 renowned performers from both domestic and international markets. Renowned performers include Aishwarya Majumdar, the winner of the STAR Voice of India, Chandrika Tandon, the Grammy Award nominee, Ricky Pond, also known as “Dancing Dad,” and vocalist Rex DSouuza. This will offer a smooth cultural encounter with India.

Unique Community-led Performances

A wide range of genres, including folk, fusion, and funky, will be showcased by the 100 performers on the outdoor stage, offering a cultural program that is sure to delight all.

The presentation is a celebration of India’s diversity, according to the cultural show’s director, Sai Sagar Patnaik.

“Just like our Welcome Partners and attendees, the program celebrates India’s diversity with dances and music from the four corners of India and everything in between,” said Patnaik to ANI.

350 volunteers from about 14 states are working diligently to get ready in a variety of organizational capacities. More than 150 media professionals from more than 85 print, television, and online media outlets will be present to cover the event.

Co-chair of the reception committee Harry Singh told ANI, “I am truly honored to be part of this inspiring celebration that shines a light on the vibrant tapestry of Indian culture and the invaluable contributions of Indian Americans.”

“It’s an opportunity to unite our large and diverse community, inspire friendship between our home and our country of origin, and foster a brighter future for all,” he added. It’s more than just a chance to introduce the world to our rich history.”

Celebration of Indian Culture & Values

The organizers of “Modi&US” describe it as a celebration of Indian culture and values that promotes a vision of harmony and diversity. Organizer Jagdish Sehwani said in an exclusive interview with CNN-News18, “This event embodies the ethos of viewing the world as one family, where diversity is a strength and the well-being of all people inspires us to build a most world together.”

Attendance & Participation

It is anticipated that 13,200 individuals will attend, reflecting India’s wide range of religious, linguistic, and cultural traditions. There will also be over 350 volunteers, over 500 artists and performers, over 500 Welcome Partners, and over 150 media professionals from over 85 media sources in more than 40 U.S. states. The show “Echoes of India: A Journey of Art and Tradition,” which will include cultural acts, will be divided into two stages.

The main stage will include a stunning display of 382 nationally and internationally recognized performers, including social media star Ricky Pond, STAR Voice of India winner Aishwarya Majumdar, Grammy contender Chandrika Tandon, and singing sensation Rex DSouza. On the outdoor stage, 117 artists will present a variety of folk, modern, classical, and fusion acts in honor of India’s rich cultural heritage. Unexpected celebrity appearances are also likely to intensify the buzz.

Organizers Behind the Event

The Indo American Community of USA (IACU) works to foster harmony and understanding within the Indian-American community through cultural events and public activities. By providing funds for initiatives in the areas of health, education, and disaster relief, they also place a high priority on improving the lives of marginalized populations both locally and globally.

The main sponsor of the Modi&US event is the Indo American Community of West Coast USA (IACU), which has its operations like its east coast chapter. Modi was warmly welcomed by almost 18,000 members of the Indian American community when he visited the SAP Center in San Jose, California, in September 2015. The IACWC had previously sponsored the SAP Center.
