Ponniyin Selvan Release date: Mani Ratnam’s historical epic Ponniyin Selvan Release date titled Ponni Nadhi is out. The film makers of the launched the film song at a live event at Chennai’s EA mall. Jayam Ravi attend the event who plays the central character called Arunmozhi Varman. AR Rahman compose the song and has lyrics penned by Ilango Krishnan. The first single has said by the music director himself along with AR Raihanah, and Bamba Baky.

Ponniyin Selvan movie is a historical fiction based on celebrated Tamil writer Kalki’s novel of the same name, the novel was first published in 1955. The epic story of the novel revolves around the politics surrounding the Cholan dynasty. The song represents Karthi’s character Vanthiyathevan as he rides his horse along the Kaveri river.
Subaskaran is the producer of this film and this film is under his Lyca Productions banner along with Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies. Ravi Varman is the cinematography while Sreekar Prasad is the editor.

Ponniyin Selvan Story Line
Ponniyin Selvan movie story rotates around Vandiyathevan, a attractive young man who sets out to the Chola land to pass a message to the King and the Princess from the Crown Prince Aditya Karikalan. Film story shuttles between Vandiyathevan’s travels in Chola country and the young Prince Arulmozhivarman’s travels in Sri Lanka.
Set in the ninth century, the film showcases the early life of Chola Prince Arulmozhivarman, who gained approval and became the most powerful king of his time in South India.
Vallavaraiyan Vandiyadevan, a powerful warrior prince of Vannar, narrates his adventurous journey within the Chola empire.
Queen Nandini (Aishwarya Bachchan), who was popularly known as Mandakini Devi, the wife of Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar (R. Sarathkumar), is on a operation to kill Aditya Karikalan (Vikram) and help her husband to reach the throne.
