Allocation of CSS Scholarship For Higher Education
The PM-USP scholarship distribution is adapted to each State Education Board, reflecting the demographic of individuals aged 18-25 years, with changes made for students from CBSE and ICSE depending on graduation rates. Half of these scholarships are particularly designated for female students. For the union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, Ladakh receives 3% of the total number of scholarship seats.
PM-USP Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
- After finishing Class XII in the 10+2 system, aspirants must rank higher than the 80th percentile of successful candidates within their specified stream and board of examination.
- Applicants must be engaged in full-time degree courses, not distance learning or certificate programs.
- Enrollment must be at institutions recognized by the AICTE and other regulatory organizations.
- Scholars should not obtain additional scholarship benefits, such as those provided by state schemes or tuition fee concessions and reimbursements.
- The award is accessible to students whose family or parental annual income does not exceed Rs. 4.5 lakhs.
- Scholarship continuation or renewal is available for students who transfer to a different college or institute, provided that the new institution and course have a recognized AISHE code.
- Students who do not renew their scholarships through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) in a given year may apply the following year if they match the renewal conditions.
- Renewal standards include scoring at least 50% on the yearly exam and maintaining a minimum attendance of 75%.
- Misconduct, such as ragging, will result in the revocation of the scholarship.

The scholarship payout is Rs 12000 per year for the first three years of graduate study at college or university, and Rs 20000 per year for postgraduate studies. For students participating in professional courses lasting five years or integrated courses, the scholarship amount would be Rs 20000 per year during the fourth and fifth years. However, students participating in technical programs like as B.Tech and B.E students are eligible for the undergraduate scholarship, which is worth Rs 12000 per year for the first three years and Rs 20000 in the final year.
Scholarship Payment Method: To profit from this initiative, students must first open bank accounts in their own names. The scholarship money will be deposited directly to the beneficiaries’ personal savings accounts using the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism.
