- The student must have obtained admission abroad to one of the recognized Ph.D., MPhil, or Master’s programs.
- The student must have obtained an education loan from a bank affiliated with the Indian Banks Association (IBA).
- If a student intends to benefit from the initiative, he or she must do so during the first year of the degree.
- Students cannot use the benefits in their second or following years.
- Applications with lower interest rates will be given preference.
- If available, financial benefits should be connected to the Aadhaar number.
- The combined income of the student’s parents or guardians should not exceed Rs. 6 lakh per year.

Rate of Interest Subsidy
- The Indian government will pay the interest under the scheme while the moratorium is in effect.
- The moratorium period is typically the term of the course plus six months or one year after landing a job.
- Following the moratorium period, the student must pay the pending interest on the outstanding loan balance.
