Additionally, the absence of NFC limits the enhancement of the digital payment process.

The OPPO F25 Pro is a dependable smartphone for those who value design, camera quality, and battery performance. It features a large 6.7-inch AMOLED display with vibrant colors. The absence of stereo speakers slightly affects the media experience. While it comes with Android 14-based ColorOS, the pre-installed apps can make the interface feel crowded. Overall, the OPPO F25 Pro is a good option given its price point.

Design And Display

Let’s start by examining the overall design before delving into the appearance, a credit to OPPO. Despite housing a sizable battery, the OPPO F25 Pro impressively maintains a slim 7.5mm profile and a weight of 177 grams. The phone is well-balanced, with ergonomically friendly placement of physical buttons (volume and power) that suits my grip. The camera module protrudes minimally, allowing the phone to sit nearly flat on surfaces. Although predominantly plastic, the build quality feels far from subpar. Additionally, the phone boasts IP65 certification for dust and water resistance, surpassing the common IP54 rating of its segment, ensuring protection against water splashes even in rainy conditions.

The OPPO F25 Pro’s look may divide opinions, despite its robust build. Although I like the Lava red hue and glossy details on the rear, I’m not fond of the large circular openings for the triple rear cameras. The rectangular border around the camera openings also tends to gather many fingerprint smudges, necessitating regular cleaning.

The front side of the OPPO F25 Pro is quite similar to last year’s F23 model, but this doesn’t mean that the viewing experience is lacking. The OPPO F25 Pro comes with a tall 6.7-inch display offering Full-HD+ resolution (2,412 x 1,080 pixels) and a 120Hz refresh rate. The portrait mode depends on the main camera and certain software adjustments. Pictures showed good depth, with accurate skin tone detection in my trials. When compared to the OnePlus Nord CE4. The OPPO F25 Pro opted for a more vibrant style. But both images possess unique characteristics that cater to personal tastes. However, many videos exhibit noticeable stuttering in fast-paced scenes, possibly due to the absence of optical image stabilization (OIS), a problem that could potentially be resolved through an over-the-air (OTA) update. The 32MP front camera on the OPPO F25 Pro offers the same recording support, which is remarkable given its price point. Colors are well-balanced in both regular and portrait mode shots, with natural skin tone detection. Portrait shots feature a lush bokeh effect and precise edge detection.

Performance And Software

The OPPO F25 Pro features the latest MediaTek Dimensity 7050 SoC manufactured using the TSMC N6 (6nm-class) chip production process. The model under review includes 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage and 8GB RAM, priced at Rs 23,999. For an extra Rs 2,000, customers can opt for the version with 256GB storage. This positions the OPPO F25 Pro in direct competition with well-known competitors such as Nothing Phone 2(a) and Redmi Note 13 Pro.

In benchmark comparisons, the OPPO F25 Pro shows decent performance but lags behind certain competitors like the Phone 2(a) powered by Dimensity 7200 Pro. It notably demonstrated improved stability in peak performance during the CPU Throttle test.
The OPPO F25 Pro is a dependable performer in the real world, coming with Android 14 pre-installed and a promise of three years of major Android updates. This is impressive for a smartphone priced below Rs 25,000.

Improvements could be made in the software experience by refining app-switching and closing animations, which currently seem flat. The UI appears cluttered due to the numerous pre-installed apps; however, some ColorOS 14 features like AI-powered smart touch (for copying text from photos and videos) and auto pixelate (for privacy) are particularly useful in my opinion.

I assessed the gaming capabilities by trying out BGMI and COD (Call of Duty). The screen’s flat design prevented mistouches, but occasional stutters were observed, possibly due to optimization concerns. Fortunately, the OPPO F25 Pro did not experience notable heating or battery drainage problems while running these two relatively demanding games.
