Karva Chauth
This festival celebrates for 1 day only in which the female humans observe a strong fast from sunrise to moonrise for the big life and safety of their husbands. Karwa Chauth is also mentioned as ‘Karak Chaturthi’ in some places. ‘Karva’ or ‘Karak’ in Hindi means ‘a pot’ while ‘Chauth’ understood ‘4th day’. Earthen pot is then used to make water contribution to the moon on the 4th day after the full moon, during the Kartik month. The Karwa also called as ‘Argha’ is contemplated very favorable and given away to an eligible woman in the family or to Brahmin as ‘Dan’ after the puja.
