Difference Between Grade Pay and Basic Pay

Grade Pay is the amount that government employees get based on the category, pay band, and a class of the employee. The grade pay is calculated on the basis of the position and class of the employee as per the 7th pay commission. Basic Pay is the sum of Grade Pay and Pay in Pay Band, i.e. Basic Pay = Grade Pay + Pay in Pay Band.

Field Marshal

In the history of the Indian Army, only two people are appointed as Field Marshal Post i.e. SHFJ Manekshaw and KM Cariappa. Field Marshal is the highest honor and rank for any military personnel. This rank is not included in the general rank hierarchy of the Army as people are not appointed for this post at present. A filed marshal never retires, even when he is not serving the country. They get a salary for life.
