Chitradurga Fort – Chitradurga Fort is a small city in the southern part of Karnataka that takes its name from Chitrakaldurga. This picturesque ancient city, also known as Chitrakaldurgas and Chittaldurg, is surrounded by rocky hills, valleys, and prominent rocks of a variety of shapes. During the Pandavas’ exile, when they arrived with their mother Kunti, Bhima, one of the Pandavas, engaged in a duel with Hidimba. Bhim ultimately defeated Hidimba, restoring peace to the region. It is believed that the boulders of this location, which are regarded as the oldest rock formations in India, contain the majority of Chitradurga.

By Air: Bangalore International Airport (Approx 197 Km) is the nearest airdrome to reach Chitrdurga fort.
By Rail: Chitradurga has its own railhead on the branch line that starts from Chikjajur with limited train services. But, there are direct trains plying to Bangalore and weekly to Mumbai. Other major railhead is Chikjajur Junction, which is at the distance of 42.5 Km from Chitrdurga city of your jounrney.
By Bus: Chitradurga is locate on the Bangalore-Pune National Highway and so you can take several KSRTC buses that ply from Bangalore (203 Km) to reach Chitradurga fort.
