On October 9, 2010, Cheteshwar Pujara made his international debut in a Test match against Australia. He scored 76 runs, including his first test half-century. After missing nearly two years, Pujara returned to the team in August 2012. In his comeback match against New Zealand, he scored a century. Pujara scored his first double century in a 2012 series against England, assisting his team in winning the match. Cheteshwar is the second Indian batsman to score 1,000 runs in a Test match. Pujara scored 280 runs in just three matches in a test series against South Africa in 2013.
Cheteshwar Pujara struggled with his bat during the 2014 series against Sri Lanka and England. In 2015, Pujara got his for back, and he beat Sri Lanka with an unbeaten century.
