Before “Kinds of Kindness,” Lanthimos’ film “Poor Things” took home four Academy Awards, including Best Actress for Stone. With a strange premise about a Frankenstein-like scientist and his insane experiments that resulted in Stone’s Bella Baxter, a mature woman with a child’s mind, it made $117 million on a $35 million budget.
