The unmissable event in the world of badminton, the YONEX French Open will take place from 20th to 25th Oct at Stade Pierre de Coubertin. At this international competition, there will be matches in 5 disciplines: Ladies Singles, Men’s Singles, Ladies’ Doubles, Men’s Doubles, Mixed Doubles. In 2007 and this year the French Open is bringing together the 250 best players in the world. The European Championships are playing in April, which might see the return of defending champion and former Olympic winner Carolina Marin to the court. Badminton YONEX 2025 Umpires Views
The French Umpires Committee would like to invite one of your umpires tournament. The umpire should hold BWF or continental certificated status, according to HSBC World Tour requirements. We will provide accommodation on a twin sharing basis, and a daily meal allowance.
Your umpire shall arrive in Paris on Monday 24th Oct and leave on Sunday 30th Oct after the finals. Due to the particular Covid-19 situation, it is recommended that the umpire books flight tickets with a cancellation insurance. Should the plan be postpone with small notice due to the Covid-19 condition, the organizing committee will not be liable for costs related to the umpires travelling to the tournament.
Some national or global epidemiological restrictions might be in place in the sports hall, hotel, transport etc. If applicable, such information will be communicated to all Technical Officials. The umpire’s briefing plan is on Monday 24th October at 5pm. If your association would like to nominate an umpire for this tournament, please notify us the name, level and gender of this umpire at the latest on August 25th. Please do not book any travel arrangements until umpire nominations have been sure.
