Agniveer Guidelines For Indian Airforce

IAF has been released guideline including eligibility criteria, selection process and benefits. According to the Guidelines “Agniveers once enrolled into the Indian Air Force, will be governed under the Air Force Act 1950, for a period of four years.

Agniveer exam & associated testing methods

Endeavour will be made to enroll candidates as Agniveers from all parts of the nation, utilising contemporary technology (online STAR exam and associated testing methods), specialized rallies and campus interviews at recognized technical institutes such as Industrial Training Institutes, NSQF etc. Agniveers would form a distinct rank in the IAF, different from any other existing rank.”

Packages covered under Agnipath Scheme

• Total annual package – 4.76 lakhs in the first year and 6.92 lakhs in the fourth year.
• Allowance- Agniveer will be given all the allowances which are provided to the army.
• Service Fund – Every Agniveer has to contribute 30% of his monthly salary.
• An equal amount will also be contributed by the government.
• After the completion of 4 years, Agniveer will be given an amount of Rs 11.71 lakh which will be free from income tax.

Compensation on death

• Agniveers will be provided with a non-contributory life insurance cover of 44 lakhs.
• In case Agniveer dies during the service, an additional ex-gratia of 44 lakhs will be provided.
• In addition, the unpaid portion of the service fund component for up to 4 years will be paid.
• Compensation in case of disability- Compensation will be provided on the basis of the percentage of disability as determined by the medical authorities.
• A lump sum ex-gratia amount of Rs 44/25/15 lakh will be provided for disability.
• On completion of tenure- After the completion of tenure, candidates can get a service fund.
• Apart from this, a certificate of skill acquired and a provision of credit for higher education will also be made.
